An Inspirational Artist

An Inspirational Artist

I have always been interested in singing, I don’t think that that will be what I will grow up to do, but anyhow I’m interested in it.

Maybe it’s the poetry in her lyrics, maybe it’s her voice, I don’t know, but one person who inspired me is Adele. She has such a clear voice, that can give off so many different emotions and feelings. I really do admire her! Adele first picked up the microphone at age 14, but her voice seems as if it has been singing for much longer. It seems like every song from ‘Hometown Glory’ to ‘Don’t You Remember’ has inspired me more and more.

So anyway, when I first heard her, I knew there was something more to music and I wanted to be a part of it. It’s really that simple.
Thank you Adele!

Frames

Frame

Put your thinking cap and do this simple project:

One of the great things about shopping at a thrift store is that you can transform old things into good as new ones.

I took this frame that was originally a dark, ugly brown and simply painted it white. I live near a Goodwill that sells at least 1000 frames that people have most likely gotten rid of cause they are no longer up to date, but if you repaint them they are perfect. You can save money now if you have frames that you no longer like or go to any thrift store and find likely a huge collection of frames. The great thing is that you can do this for anything, especially furniture.

That’s the power of thrifting!

So why did I post this in “Thursday Thoughts”? Because it’s really easy to create unique things with a little thinking!

Stay up to date on my blog ’cause I’m going to do a whole frame project for my room soon!

Hope Was Here- Joan Bauer

Sixteen year old Hope Yancey has a big voice, strong heart, and most of all, a lot of hope. When she moves yet again, to small diary town in Wisconsin named Mulhoney, she immediately finds that anything can be changed with a little hope, strength and teamwork.

Hope is a waitress, and her aunt is a cook at the ‘Welcome Stairway’ diner. When G. T. Stoop, the owner of the diner, runs for mayor against a corrupt but powerful man named Eli Millstone, Hope helps him to find his dream. G. T. Stoop hasn’t lost determination and neither has Hope even when they get the results after many months of campaigning…

Hope knows what its like to not be loved, her mother who didn’t have the mother skills to keep her, abandoned Hope and left her to her aunt. Hope doesn’t even know who her real father is. Somehow, happiness finds it’s way into Hope’s life and she has finally found a place where she is loved and a place that feels like home to her.

Even if life isn’t perfect, we can all get through it.

‘Hope Was Here’ is an original, creative, meaningful novel. Hope Yancey’s life is so realistic that it is hard to believe that it is a fiction story. It is like watching a movie that the actors are acting so well that it doesn’t seem like they’re even acting anymore. Joan Bauer wrote this story, so that you could reflect it into your own life. So that you could reflect hope into your life…

Personally, I though that at times the book had a little slow of a plot, but I don’t dislike it because of that, because it is not an adventure or action story, but rather a story about life and people.

People that want to cry and laugh at the same time, people that want a story about ambition and hope, a story about people that are out there in the world and maybe just like them should read ”Hope Was Here”.

Tip to Bedrooms

Tip to Bedrooms

Here are a few tip to making your space comfortable, relaxing, and organized:

– Make sure that you have a lot of floor space (especially when you have a small room), otherwise you feel like you can’t move around freely. Instead of keeping stuff on the floor, keep it on shelves and your closet. Your room will feel much bigger automatically!

-Clutter to clean. A lot of the time the biggest mess can lead to a perfect and organized room. When organizing or doing a redo of your room pull everything out and start fresh.

-Try to go for light colors in your room, the accessories in your room will spice it up. Also make sure that your room is letting in the most amount of light in as possible. A dark room feels dreary and not relaxing.

– Make your room personal, after all, it is your private space. Add photos, display things that mean a lot to you. Make it your own.

Maybe it’s You-The Carpenters 1979

Maybe it’s You-The Carpenters 1979

One of my favorite Carpenters song is ‘Maybe It’s You’. The album that this track was on, ‘Greatest Hits’, was my first album I got. I remember dancing around the living room to ‘Top of the World’ and singing along to ‘Sing’. . . la la la la la la, my nickname. I used to listen to those two songs only, practically, but now, six years later I listen to all of them.

This song is one of my new discovers. I especially love the melody.

I imagine singing to it.

I would sing. . .

Maybe it’s you

Maybe it’s me

Maybe it’s just the constant rhythm of the sea

Maybe it’s just that I’ve never been

The kind who can pass a lucky penny by

Maybe it’s wise

Maybe it’s not

Maybe it’s you who brought the caring I’d forgot

Isn’t it nice to talk about the special way

That you smile whenever I’m around

Rising on the shore

The ocean came

Walks along the waves of velveteen

His only thought

Was love for me

Couldn’t we stay?

Or must we go

Couldn’t we stay?

And watch the splashing rock we throw

Only a fool would want to leave this paradise

That I find whenever you’re around

Only a fool

Isn’t it nice to talk about the special way

That you smile whenever I’m around

Rising on the shore

The ocean came

Walks along the waves of velveteen

His only thought

Was love for me

Couldn’t we stay?

Or must you go

Couldn’t we stay?

And watch the splashing rocks we throw

Only a fool would want to leave the paradise

That I find whenever you’re around

Only a fool

Only a fool
