Hello 2016!
It’s a New Year. Yay! There’s nothing better than a fresh start and that’s just what 2016 has brought me. Recently, I redesigned my room. Surprise, surprise! Yes, I know, I’m the world’s biggest rearranger of rooms ever, but please, bear with me.
I didn’t add any new furniture to my room, keeping my bed, chair, jewelry table, decor table, and record player stand. Although, I did add a few new “accessories” like a DIY bed canopy. I went to IKEA and found cheap mesh curtains for less than $5 dollars. I tied the two curtains together with a hair tie (I’m so fancy.) and bolted a hook to my ceiling. Et voila!
In addition to my canopy, I added some fairy lights in true Christmas spirit. What I love about them is that they can be used as my room lighting instead of my lackluster over head light.

For another room decor DIY, I was inspired by the Urban Outfitters Wall Hanging made from yarn. At a local craft store I found a metal ring and found some very fluffy yarn. I tied the yarn strands to the metal ring and hung the piece of art to the wall.

Personally, I find that jewelry can be one of the hardest things to keep untangled and organized. It seems that for me my necklaces are permanetly tangled. On YouTube, I found a lovely DIY Tree Branch Hanging specifically for jewelry. From a stick I found from a local park, some twine, and metal hanging hooks, I made it.

I also have a table where I have a jewelry box from Crate and Barrel, another DIY sunglasses frame holder, a mannequin for additional necklaces, and a pastry holder where I keep some earrings I recently purchased. In the corner of my room I keep my Crosley Record Player on a small white table with my records underneath (including my new Adele 25 LP). Of course, I have my Audrey Hepburn on the wall too.

I added a few photos from this year to a side table just for fun.

Around my closet, I added some photos I found on Instagram, Pinterest, and WeHeartIt. I used a paperclip and string to attach them to the wall. I also have little “poofs” that I strung to the wall above my bench, and a light up ‘A’ in true me-fashion.

On my radiator bench I have a mini Christmas tree, a light box, a lantern, and a buddha. Obviously, I’ll remove the Christmas decorations soon and add something new, so stay tuned.

So, there you have it. Next week, I’ll be sharing a few tips and tricks for room decor and I’d like to share with you a few things I received from Christmas including books, additional room decor, clothes, accessories, and stationary.
Stay tuned,
Miss Tweenster
